Adding Extra TV Channels
to the Sky Digibox
There are very few channels
broadcasted from the Satellites at 28.3 deg East that are not already in the
Sky Digibox EPG, here are the details of the ones which
are available and can be added to the “Other Channels” :-

Motors TV and EuroNews have multiple audio channels, French can be selected for Motors TV and EuroNews (Services-System Setup-Language&Subtitles)
EuroNews also has German,
Italian, Spanish, Polish and Russian audio channels.
Phoenix CNE has a Chinese audio channel as well as
an English one.
MTA International has multiple audio
channels, Arabic, French, German and

You add extra channels by pressing the "Services" button on the Sky
Remote,
choose option 4
"System Setup"
choose option 4 "Add
Channels"
There are four things you have to enter
- Frequency
- Polarisation (H or V for Horizontal or Vertical)
- Symbol
Rate (only 22.0 or 27.5 is available)
- FEC
(1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8)
To find the extra channels
look below or on the Lyngsat website (see below),
you will see all the infomation you need.
As an example, if you want to add Fox
News (NOTE now back but encrypted as a pay channel Feb 2002, see Fox News stopped
broadcasting)
add the information (Freq) 11508 (Pol)
H (Symbol) 27500 (FEC) 2/3
Once you have entered the parameters
select "Find Channels"
After a while a list of channels will
appear, mark the ones you want using the Yellow
button on the Sky Remote Control, then press Select.
NOTE - To access these channels press
"Services"
and choose "Other Channels"
They do not appear along side the
Channels in the Electronic Program Guide (along with 101 BBC1, 106 Sky One etc)
You
can not add them to the EPG (see Can I add Channels
from the "Other Channels" into the EPG)

NOTE : The Sky Box is prone to losing all the "Other
Channels" - this can sometimes be due to a over the air software upgrade
You only get these few extra channels,
unless you point another dish at another Satellite such as the old SKY analogue
position of Astra 1 at 19 degrees East.
