Sky Satellite TV Free Channels
The most asked question in the Sky Satellite newsgroups must be "what channels do I get without paying a Sky subscription"
There are Free To View (FTV) Channels which are scrambled and require a Sky Digibox and either a non subscription FTV Viewing Card (also referred to as a FREE2VIEW, BBC or Solus card) from the "Free to View Card Registration people" (which was run by the BBC, Channel 4 and Five and is Now run by FREE2VIEW) or a Sky Viewing Card for which a subscription is no longer being paid - note the situation with FTV cards has recently changed see here.
There are also Free To Air (FTA)channels which are not scrambled and can be picked by ANY digital satellite receiver and also by a Sky Digibox even if it doesn't have a viewing card in it.

The Sky Digibox is capable of storing the details of up to 50 other channels if you relocated the Satellite dish to point at other Satellites.
